Every young person in Nevada deserves HOPE. DIGNITY. a sense of BELONGING.

Right now, thousands of students are sitting in Nevada classrooms carrying weight most adults couldn’t handle, including — poverty, trauma, family instability, and a quiet belief that the future isn’t really meant for them.

They’re not disengaged because they don’t care. They’re disengaged because too often no one has shown them a path to success.

JAG Nevada opens that door—and walks alongside them every step of the way.

What is JAG Nevada?

Our mission is simple: empower Nevada’s young people with the skills and support to succeed in education, employment, and life.

JAG Nevada places a caring, trained adult — a Specialist — directly inside high school classrooms across the state. Not to teach academic content, but to mentor, coach, connect, and champion students who have been historically overlooked by every other system they’ve encountered.

Students arrive carrying an average of nine barriers to success: housing instability, food insecurity, family trauma, credit deficiency, expulsions, or simply never having met anyone working in a career worth aspiring to. Our Specialists see past all of that. They see the student underneath.

Through workforce readiness training, leadership development, career exploration, and partnerships with employers, colleges, and state agencies, JAG Nevada helps students transcend those barriers through high school and stay supported for 12 months after graduation.

100%  in-school graduation rate.

88.80% full-time positive outcome rate — employment, college, military, or a combination.

Those aren’t metrics. Those are Janae, who came to us homeless and facing expulsion, and today has an Advanced Manufacturing credential and a permanent role at Tesla. Those are Jorge, who was wandering the halls instead of going to class, and now owns a house, a truck, and sent us his wedding photo. Those are young people who were this close to becoming a statistic  and chose a different story instead.

You don’t have to change the whole system. You just have to show up for one young person.

How can I get involved?

VOLUNTEER

Walk into a classroom and show students what a career can look like. Conduct a mock interview. Share your path. Judge a competition. You’ll be surprised how much it means to a young person to simply see someone doing something they didn’t know was possible and treating them with the dignity they deserve.

MENTOR

Open your workplace. Offer a job shadow, an internship, a first conversation. JAG Nevada’s model is built on collective impact — on employers, educators, and community partners linking arms around students who need exposure just as much as they need skills. When they can see it, they can be it.

CONTRIBUTE

Your investment funds outcomes. It funds carbon-tipped boots so a student can work on a factory floor. Bus passes so a student doesn’t miss class or lose their job. Professional clothing so a student walks into a job interview feeling like they belong. Eighty cents of every dollar goes directly to impact a student’s life — and to sustaining a program built to be here for the long run.

That’s what your support makes possible. That’s what hope looks like when it’s funded.

Mary came to us with 24 barriers. She left with a career, an apartment, and a future.

Homelessness. A record of expulsion. When Mary joined JAG Nevada, the odds were stacked against her in almost every measurable way.

Her Specialist didn’t measure her by her barriers. They built a relationship rooted in dignity.  She learned to manage her emotions, navigate systems, and develop real workplace skills. In her senior year, Mary applied to Tesla’s Manufacturing Development Program, a paid, year-long apprenticeship in Reno. She aced the interview.

Today, Mary has her Advanced Manufacturing credential, a permanent role at Tesla, and a home she calls safe and beautiful.

That’s what belonging to something can do.
